Career
From 2008 to 2010, Lares designed for the Hollister Co. brand owned by Abercrombie & Fitch, in the apparel department of wovens in New Albany, Ohio. While at Hollister, she moved to Manhattan, New York City. She left Hollister Co. in 2010 to design clothing for Victoria's Secret.
In September 2015 Katie Lares collaborated with New York City fashion photographer Matt Licari on a concept "Inspired by the unrestrained heritage of the era, along with the artists and creatives that lived in and shaped the city at the time, photographer Matt Licari and designer Katie Lares, both based in New York City, have teamed up to produce a contemporary project that showcases their deep love for New York. The concept for the project stems from a "Made in New York, Making It in New York" phrase that has a double meaning: inspired by Katie Laresâ luxury leather accessories that are made in New York City, but also creative individuals themselves who are being made in, and shaped by, the city itself to some capacity."
Beautiful Savage magazine tapped Katie Lares to collaborate on a custom one of a kind coat for their editorial "GAME OF CLONES" in March 2016.
